Hi, I’m Anshulika Kapoor, An Actress, Producer, and TEDx performer with over 15 years of experience in the film and theatre industry. My work has travelled across the world, earning recognition and winning hearts at festivals and platforms globally for its honesty, emotional depth, and social resonance.
Some of my films, The Golden Cage, Mein Mehmood, and Just Another Day, have been celebrated for their nuanced portrayal of women stories ,migration, and the South Asian experience. The Golden Cage was Oscar‑qualified and screened at several international festivals. Mein Mehmood won the Golden Royal Bengal Tiger Award and was named among the top 20 Indian films at the Jio Cinema Film Fest. Just Another Day received critical acclaim, multiple awards, and special mentions for its powerful storytelling on the sensitive subject of gender abuse. Across my body of work, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition across continents, and immense love from audiences.

From these internationally recognized projects to my early theatre roots and my journey as a multilingual performer, I’ve built my creative path around stories that spark conversation, challenge assumptions, and deepen human connection. Whether I’m in front of the camera or shaping a narrative behind it, I’m guided by a simple belief: stories have the power to shift perspectives and bring people closer.
My upcoming film, Harij Weds Sajili, dives into the dark currents of dowry culture while celebrating the resilience of women who refuse to be defined by it. Through Red Polka Productions, the creative home where many of my films first took shape, I’ve had the privilege of shaping these narratives from behind the camera as well, weaving together voices, visions, and lived experiences that deserve to be heard.
Theatre has been another home for me, a space where breath, silence, and presence become their own language. Being part of India’s multilingual theatre community allowed me to travel with my work across the country, performing in over a hundred shows and exploring the full emotional range of live storytelling. One of my most cherished milestones was bringing the first‑ever dramatic performance to a TEDx stage.
Across everything I create, I’m drawn to stories that sit in the shadows, the ones we whisper about but rarely bring into the light. My work often explores identity, womanhood, migration, and the quiet complexities of modern relationships. I’m drawn to characters who carry both tenderness and fire, and to narratives that reflect the realities of South Asian communities while echoing universally.
At the heart of my craft is a simple intention: to hold up a mirror to the world and say, “this is us, in all our beauty, complexity, and becoming“
